About Dorna Rafiei

Dorna Rafiei is a Proficient Behaviour Support Practitioner with a Bachelor of Behavioural Science and a Diploma of Art Therapy. She has more than three years of experience supporting children, adults, and older adults with diverse and complex needs, including autism, ADHD, intellectual disability, acquired brain injury, psychosocial disability, including borderline personality disorder, and alcohol and other drug-related behavioural challenges. Dorna is experienced in behaviour support assessments and plans, stakeholder consultation, parent coaching, staff training, and practical emotional regulation strategies, while also incorporating play-based approaches with children and art therapy techniques with both children and adults to support engagement, communication, emotional expression, and skill development. She works collaboratively with participants, families, and support teams and also supports participants to identify, access, and engage with appropriate community services and meaningful community-based opportunities. Her person-centred approach focuses on improving quality of life, choice, independence, participation, and sustainable outcomes while minimising unnecessary restrictions.
