Functional behaviour assessment
A structured process to understand behaviours of concern, contributing factors, unmet needs, strengths, communication, and environmental influences.
Our services
Sky Ability provides Specialist Behaviour Support for NDIS participants of all ages. Our qualified and experienced practitioners use functional assessment, evidence-informed practice, and data-based decision-making to understand the factors contributing to behaviours of concern.

Our approach
We develop proactive strategies that respect each participant’s rights, dignity, communication, environment, and personal goals. Our focus is on improving quality of life, building practical skills, strengthening care teams, and reducing the frequency and impact of behaviours of concern and restrictive practices.
What we provide
From initial assessment to implementation and review, our practitioners provide the professional guidance required for coordinated Behaviour Support.
A structured process to understand behaviours of concern, contributing factors, unmet needs, strengths, communication, and environmental influences.
Individualised interim and comprehensive plans with proactive strategies, skill-building approaches, safety guidance, and clear implementation information.
Practical guidance that helps families, carers, and care teams apply strategies consistently across everyday environments.
Person-focused coaching for families and care teams to strengthen understanding, confidence, and consistent practice.
Ongoing data review, consultation, and plan updates to ensure strategies remain relevant and responsive to changing needs.

Positive Behaviour Support looks beyond the behaviour itself. It seeks to understand why a behaviour is occurring, identify safer and more effective ways to meet the person’s needs, build skills, and create environments that better support wellbeing and participation.
