What Psychology may support
Psychological intervention may support emotional regulation, coping, relationships, communication, social participation, confidence, daily functioning, and capacity-building. The focus should be connected to the participant’s functional needs and NDIS goals.
Psychological assessments
Assessment may clarify cognitive, developmental, behavioural, emotional, adaptive, or learning needs. The psychologist selects appropriate assessment methods according to the referral question, professional judgement, and clinical suitability.
Working with the care team
With the participant’s consent, psychologists may collaborate with family members, carers, support coordinators, and other professionals to support coordinated care and practical implementation of recommendations.
NDIS funding decisions depend on the individual plan and current NDIS requirements. This article is general information and is not funding, legal, or clinical advice.
